Texas Chiltepin (Pepper Seeds) is a wild cultivator from Wimberly, Texas. Very hot, .375 inches round/ wide pods matures from green to red. Much earlier and considerably more prolific producer than our "Tepin". A good choice for the shorter season northern gardens. Plant grows to about 5 inches tall by 6-8 inches wide. Mid to late season fruiting. C.annuum.
Soak seed in water over night before planting. Plants grow 2 to 3 feet tall by 2 feet in wide. Plant in rows 2-3 feet apart with spacing between plants 12-18 inches in full sun.

Directions:
Combine Tepin flakes, garlic powder, salt and sugar. In a cast-iron or non stick skillet, heat the oil over medium heat, but do not let it smoke or burn. Add peanuts and stir in oil till lightly toasted. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Place peanust in a bowl while still hot, add the Tepin spice mix. Stir 30 seconds to mix well. Spread on a plate until cool. Serve in a bowl with your favorite beverage.
Note: Cook in a well-ventilated area, as the vaporizing Tepin oil will severely irritate your nose, throat and eyes!
